#HBBFT (Honey Badger Byzantine Fault Tolerance) is a groundbreaking advancement in blockchain technology because it introduces a unique type of consensus mechanism. It operates as a cooperative consensus engine and employs a delegated Proof of Stake (dPOS) methodology for selecting nodes, which we refer to as POSDAO. This approach ensures a fair and randomized selection process based on the trustworthiness and stability ratings of the nodes, allowing validators to be chosen for each 12-hour epoch. Once an epoch begins, the consensus mechanism that secures the blockchain and generates blocks is HBBFT, which operates independently from traditional Proof of Stake (PoS) or Proof of Work (PoW) systems.
