Dear Node Runners,
We’re thrilled to announce the release of HOPRd version 3.0.0! 🎉 This update introduces significant improvements and new features, making it a major step forward from the previous versions.
🟡 Key Updates in Version 3.0.0
- Protocol Enhancements: anonymous return path has been added to the HOPR protocol.
- Packaging Improvements: HOPRd can now be published as OS packages for Debian, Red Hat, and Alpine Linux distributions.
- API and Session Management: Session pooling at the API level prevents sessions from dropping due to inactivity.
- Indexer Improvements: The indexer’s initial sync process has been optimized for better performance and robustness.
- Incorrectly indexed channels are now exposed in the admin UI with error messages for RPC endpoint issues.
- The tickets aggregation feature has been removed as it’s no longer needed given the new network ticket settings.
- The design of HOPR in the v3 release is described in detail in a suite of RFCs currently being edited.
For a detailed list of fixes and improvements, visit the GitHub releases page:
🟡 Important Notice
To ensure network stability and maintain eligibility for rewards, all node operators running HOPRd version 2.2.x or earlier must update to version 3.0.0 by October 9th.
During the upgrade process, you will need to re-sync your node. For a detailed walkthrough, follow our migration guide here:
If you are running HOPRd with Docker or Docker Compose, please update the Admin UI by following this guide:
To optimize your node's performance, we strongly recommend running your own Gnosis RPC provider with Nethermind execution layer client version 1.33.1.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to the HOPR network!
Warm regards,
The HOPR Team
